Terms and Conditions

Terms beginning with capitals are defined below.

Benefits

  1. For an Institution that subscribes to the printed version or has an online-only subscription to European Journal of Endocrinology at the institutional rate, that institution's Members may access the full text of the electronic version, via the World Wide Web, using workstations on the subscribing Institution's Site. There is no extra charge for this service, and no user name or password is required.
  2. A subscribing Institution that offers remote secure (e.g. password-protected) access to its network may make the full text available to its bona fide Members via this route. (For the avoidance of doubt, this does not entitle bodies such as learned societies to extend access to their off-site subscribing members.)
  3. Visitors who are not Members of the Institution may access the full text provided they do so from workstations located in the Institution's library and specifically designated for this purpose.
  4. Members of the Institution may pass single copies of full-text articles, including electronic copies, to other Members within the Institution's Site at no additional charge.
  5. The library of a subscribing Institution may supply to the library of another non-subscribing Institution (whether by post, fax or secure transmission, using Ariel or its equivalent, whereby the electronic file is deleted immediately after printing), for the purposes of research or private study and not for commercial use, a single paper copy of an electronic original of an individual article. The supply of such copies must conform to limitations on "fair use" or "fair dealing" under copyright law.

Conditions

  1. The subscribing Institution must register the (range of) IP addresses of the workstations on the Site. There is an online form for this.
  2. There must be no systematic copying of the whole or of a substantial fraction of any journal issue. (See also proprietary rights notice below.)
  3. There must be no resale of any full-text article.
  4. No copy of any electronic full-text file may be passed outside the subscribing Site, except to the Institution's bona fide Members as described in benefit 2 above.

Multi-site licences

If your organization has signed a special multi-site or other licence agreement that includes access to European Journal of Endocrinology, the terms of that agreement take precedence over the above terms and conditions.

Definitions

Institution: An organization, such as a university, college, research institute, hospital or commercial company, occupying a single Site.

Member: An employee of the subscribing Institution or a student enrolled with the Institution for the purpose of engaging in a course of study or research governed by the Institution.

Site: The Institution's premises gathered in one immediate locality.
